Frequently Asked Questions?

What are your top 5 most popular flavors? All flavors are moist and delicious; however, the top 5 most popular flavors are Red Velvet, Lemon Glazed Pound, Key Lime, Caramel, and German Chocolate.  Simply Vanilla is very popular for birthday and wedding cakes.

Should cake be served cold or at room temperature?  Desserts are typically better when served at room temperature.  It may be removed from refrigeration 2 to 3 hours before time to serve to allow it to reach room temperature.

Is there a deposit required for specialty and custom cake orders? Yes, a 50% deposit is required at the time of order to secure your order.  The remaining balance will be required for the day delivery.

Can I pick up at another location other than Michaels?  Yes, there is an option for pick up at an alternate location.  Additional fees may be charged for delivery to alternate locations.  Please email or contact us directly to discuss the location and delivery fee.

How many people does a standard cake serve?  Up to 16 people.

Is there an option for whipped frosting?  Yes, please specify in the comments section before the order is placed.

Do you offer plant-based gluten-free or sugar-free desserts?   No, not at this time.  Please check back for periodic updates to the website as we will be looking to provide the desserts in select flavors in the near future.

Do you offer individually boxed cupcakes and/or Mini Bundt cakes for special events?  Yes, please complete a customer order form to order individual desserts for your special event.  You will need to specify the color(s), quantity, and style of the treat boxes you would like.

Do you offer cake stands and or cake toppers for specialty cake orders?  Yes.  Please complete the custom cake order form and include an image of the cake stand and/or topper idea you would like.  Specify other details in the comments section.

Should the cake be refrigerated?  Yes, cakes with frostings or filling containing dairy products should be refrigerated.  When refrigerated, cover the cake box completely with saran and/or plastic wrap.  This eliminates the air from getting to the cake and helps to maintain the moisture of the cake.

Can the cake be frozen?  If you decide to preserve the cake to enjoy at a later time, you may freeze it by following the following steps:  1.  Cover the cake completely with saran and/or plastic wrap.  2. Place cake in Press & Seal or a large freezer-safe bag and or freezer-safe container.  3.  Dessert may be frozen for up to 3 months.

Can I cancel my order?  Yes, standard cake orders will need to be canceled 3 days in advance before the scheduled delivery or shipping date.  Orders not canceled prior to the 3 days, will be charged 50% of the price of the order.

How do I cancel my order?  In a standard cake order, please send an email at least 3 days in advance to sweetedelectables@gmail.com.  Specialty cake and Wedding cake orders must be canceled at least 3 weeks in advance.  Orders not canceled before the required timeframe can be subject to deposits not being refunded.
